  1. How does the Mango Card work?

    Your Mango MasterCard Prepaid Card is a convenient way to manage your money and it’s much safer than using cash. The Mango Card is not a credit card, which means you can spend only the money you have and will not incur late payment penalties or high interest fees. Mango offers the highest levels of security for your account, through PINs and a series of questions that only you know the answers to. Also, your funds are FDIC insured up to $100,000.

  11. When will my money be available once I load it?

    Money is generally available the same day it is loaded onto your card. If you believe your funds have been delayed, call 1-877-89-MANGO (1-877-896-2646).

  12. Why do you need a physical mailing address and why can’t you send my card to a P.O. Box?

    For security reasons, a federal mandate prevents us from mailing to anywhere other than a valid physical U.S. address.

  13. Do I need to have a bank account to get a card?

    No. You are 100% approved for a Mango Card as long as you provide the proper information during registration.

  14. Can I still get a Mango Card even if I have bad credit or have bounced some checks in the past?

    Yes! You are 100% approved for a Mango Card as long as you provide the proper information during registration. We do not do credit checks.

  15. Will the Mango Card build my credit?

    No. Currently this is not a credit building program; however, we are working on solutions to provide this option.

  16. How old do I have to be to get a Mango Card?

    You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a Mango Card.

  17. What is the difference between a “credit” and “debit” transaction?

    When you make a purchase with your Mango Card, the merchant may ask, “Will this be credit or debit?” If you choose “credit,” you will be required to sign a receipt to complete the transaction. If you choose “debit,” you will need to enter your PIN number to complete the transaction. Both signature and PIN transactions pull money directly from the amount loaded on your Mango Card.

    You can check your transactions on your mobile with YAP or by logging into your account here.

  19. How do I change my account information?

    You can change your account information (such as your address and phone number) online through your Account Center.

  20. What are the benefits of having a prepaid debit card?

Direct Deposit

  1. What is Direct Deposit?

    Signing up for Direct Deposit means that your employer will automatically send your paycheck to your Mango account. It’s the most secure, convenient, fast and FREE way to load your funds.

  2. How quickly are the funds from my paycheck available with Direct Deposit?

    Your funds will be available immediately. Direct deposit is the most convenient, secure way to load your paycheck and it’s absolutely free. To enroll in Direct Deposit, just log in to your Mango Account, download the form and follow the easy instructions.

  3. What do I need to do to set up Direct Deposit?

    To enroll in Direct Deposit, just log in to your Mango Account, download the form and follow the easy instructions. You will provide the Direct Deposit form to your employer’s payroll or human resources department and they will return it to us. We will then be able to begin depositing your paycheck directly onto your Mango Card.

  4. What happens to my Direct Deposit if I change jobs?

    If you change jobs, the payments from your previous job will stop automatically. To start Direct Deposit with your new employer, simply fill out another direct deposit form, sign it and provide it to your new employer. They will send it to us so we can begin depositing your paycheck directly onto your Mango Card.

Using an ATM

  1. I see that I need to set a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to use my Mango Card. How can I get a PIN?

    You will set up your PIN when you call 1-888-389-9323 to activate your permanent card. Once you set your PIN, you can change it at any time by calling 1-877-89-MANGO (1-877-896-2646).

  2. What if I forget my PIN?

    Call 1-877-89-MANGO (1-877-896-2646) to speak to a Mango Agent, who will ask you a series of security questions before walking you through the secure process of resetting your PIN.

  3. Do I need my PIN to withdraw funds from the ATM?

    Yes. When you use your Mango Card to withdraw money from an ATM, you will insert your card, enter your four-digit PIN, and select “Withdrawal.” You will then be asked if you are withdrawing the money from “Checking”, “Savings” or “Credit.” You should choose “Checking.”

  4. How much cash can I withdraw at an ATM?

    You may withdraw up to $500 per 24-hour period with your Mango Card.

  5. Does it cost money to withdraw money from an ATM?

    You may be charged a fee by the financial institution that owns the ATM. The ATM will usually notify you of this fee before you make your transaction, and will ask you to confirm your acceptance of this fee before completing your transaction. Mango may also charge a $2 usage fee in the U.S. and 2% of your transaction cost for ATMs outside of the continental U.S. The Mango usage fee is to cover charges made by the financial institution that operates the ATM.

  6. Can I check my balance at any ATM?

    Yes. You can check your balance for FREE with your mobile phone by texting BAL to 88988. You can always log in to your Account Center to get your balance.

Using Your Mango Card

  1. What is the maximum amount of money I can have on my card at one time?

    Federal law requires that each Mango Account have a balance of no more than $10,000. Please note that this limit assumes you have a permanent Mango Card.

  2. Is each transaction processed immediately?

    Yes. Once you use your card, the funds will be deducted immediately. Please note that some gas stations may “hold” a set amount and some restaurants may authorize 20% above your total bill to leave room for tip. Any unused funds from these holds will be placed back into your account once the final amount is authorized.

  3. Can I use my Mango Card at a gas station to “pay at the pump?”

    Yes. You must press “debit” at the gas pump to access your funds. If you press “credit” you will not be able to “pay at the pump.” Please note that gas stations often hold $50.00 to $75.00 for these transactions. The unused funds are placed back into your account once the merchant settles the payment.

  4. Can I use my Mango Card to shop online?

    Yes. You can use your card anywhere MasterCard debit cards are accepted.

  1. What is YAP?

    YAP is a safe, fast and easy way to send money using your mobile phone. Now you can send money whenever you want, from wherever you are. Learn more about YAP

  2. How do I register for YAP?

    You are automatically registered online when you sign up for a Mango Card at www.MangoMoney.com.

  3. Do I need to have a Mango Card to send money with YAP?

    Yes. When you enroll in Mango and set up your YAP account every time you send money using your mobile phone, it pulls money from your Mango Card.

  4. I received money with YAP. How do I get my money?

    When you enroll in Mango you are automatically registered for YAP. Once you receive your Mango Card there are three easy ways to access your money:

    • Use your Mango Card to shop.
    • Use your mobile phone to send money to someone else through YAP.
    • Get cash by using your Mango Card at any ATM
  5. Can I send money to someone who is not registered with YAP?

    Yes, you can send money to anyone in the U.S. who has a working mobile phone even if they have not signed up for YAP or enrolled for a Mango Card. Just send money and we’ll walk them through the easy Mango/YAP sign-up. Once they enroll, the money you send them will come loaded on their Mango Card!

  6. Can I receive money from someone who is not registered with YAP?

    No. Only YAP registered users can send money.

  7. How fast does money travel when I send it through YAP?

    Sending money with YAP is instant. When you send money to another Mango customer, it goes into their account as soon as they receive your text message and accept the funds.

  8. What happens if I try to send more money than I have in my account?

    Don’t worry, if this happens the money will not be sent. YAP will immediately send you a message saying that you don’t have enough funds in your account to complete the transaction.

  9. How do I put more money in my account if I don’t have enough to cover a transaction I want to make?

    You will need to reload your Mango Card. Click here for a list of reload locations. You can also ask someone who is enrolled in YAP to send you money.

  10. What is the maximum amount of money that I can send through YAP?

    To protect you from fraud, the maximum amount of money you can send through YAP in one day is $950. The maximum you can send in a week is $3,000. In one month you can send up to $7,500.

Safety and PIN Numbers

  1. How safe is YAP?

    YAP is safer than carrying cash:

    • With YAP, you can make payments without having to carry cash. YAP also offers you a guarantee that protects you 100% protection against fraud. If your phone is ever lost or stolen just call us within 24 hours at 1-877-89-MANGO (1-877-89-62646).
    • Every time you send or receive money through YAP, we will ask you for your five-digit YAP PIN to make sure your account is safe and protected. YAP will also never ask you to send personal information through your mobile phone.
    • For your protection we send all YAP messages from different numbers. This is safer because we can prevent anyone from interfering with your YAP transaction.
    • YAP invests in your safety. The system that we use to protect your money and personal information is the same used by the safest banks in the world.
    • YAP employs a team of experts whose sole job is preventing fraud and protecting your money.
    • You can temporarily disable the YAP functions within your phone by “freezing” YAP. There is no cost to do so. Freezing YAP does NOT freeze your Mango Card, it only temporarily disables the YAP functions on your mobile phone.
  2. What should I do if my mobile phone is lost or stolen?

    Don’t worry. Just call us immediately at our toll-free number, 1-877-89-MANGO (1-877-89-62646), and tell the customer service agent that you want to freeze the YAP functions in your phone because it was lost or stolen. Then ask for your last transaction. You can have the peace of mind that if your phone is lost or stolen, YAP will take care of any fraudulent charges that may have occurred on your account 24 hours prior to your call.

  3. If my phone is stolen, can someone else obtain my YAP PIN?

    If your phone is lost or stolen, YAP offers you a guarantee that any unauthorized expenses will be covered as long as you report your phone’s loss or theft within 24 hours of the time it happened. To further protect you from the risk of someone obtaining your YAP PIN, we ask that you erase your message to YAP after each completed transaction.

  4. What is my YAP PIN?

    Your YAP PIN is your “Personal Identification Number” — the unique, five-digit security code to make transactions with your mobile phone. This is the same as the last 5 digits of your Mango Card number. To set or reset your YAP PIN online, login and visit your Account Profile. If you are already logged in, click here.

  5. How can I change my YAP PIN?

  6. Why do I have two PINS — YAP PIN and an ATM PIN?

    Your YAP PIN is a five-digit number that you use to send money with your mobile phone.

    Your ATM PIN is a four-digit number that you use to get cash at an ATM. You set your ATM PIN when you activate your Mango Card.

  7. Why do the messages I receive from YAP come from different numbers?

    YAP sends you text messages from different, randomly-chosen numbers (also known as shortcodes) for your safety – this tactic prevents anyone from tracking the messages between you and YAP.

Technical Issues

  1. What should I do if, while I’m making a YAP transaction on my mobile phone, the phone battery dies, the signal fades or I run out of airtime?

    Don’t worry. When your phone is working again, follow the steps to obtain your last YAP transaction (send a message to 88988 that says “last”). YAP will send you a record of your last YAP transaction, so you can see if the transaction you were making when your phone had a problem was completed.

    YAP gives you a 12 hour time limit to confirm each transaction. If you exceeded that time period and our transaction wasn’t completed, simply start again.

  2. How do I get my money back if I accidentally send it to an incorrect number?

    Don’t worry. Simply call Mango’s toll-free number, 1-877-89-MANGO (1-877-89-62646) to speak with a customer service agent and explain what happened. We’re here to help you.

  3. Can I make a YAP transaction from any mobile phone or only with the phone I registered?

    For your safety, the YAP functions are only linked to the mobile phone you registered with us.

  4. What should I do if I change my mobile phone number?

    Please let us know as soon as you change your number. For your security, and so you can continue using YAP, it’s important that we deactivate your previous number and activate the new one.

    To update your phone number with YAP, just visit us online at www.MangoMoney.com and follow these easy steps:

    • Login with your username and password.
    • Answer the security question.
    • Click on “Profile”.
    • Click on Change mobile number.
  5. YAP asked me to erase my outgoing message after a transaction. How do I do this?

    Each phone is different. You can call your mobile phone provider’s customer service hotline or visit the closest store that sells phones and ask for help. You can also do an online search with the term “erase outgoing text message + (your mobile phone make and model).” You can also ask a friend or family member for help.

  6. What should I do if I didn’t receive a confirmation message after sending money with YAP?

    YAP always sends you a confirmation message when you send money.
